Green River Lake Tailwater
The 12.5-mile float from the Tailwater Ramp to Roachville Ford — a shuttle take-out, not a second fishing destination in its own right, with no intermediate public access on the whole stretch.

What you hear
What the primary sources actually say
"There's a take-out partway down."
There isn’t. KDFWR’s Blue Water Trail page: 12.5 miles from the Tailwater Ramp to Roachville Ford with no intermediate public take-out. Plan for a full-day float.
"Roachville Ford is on the same KDFWR record as the ramp."
It isn’t. Roachville Ford is a Green County site, separate from wid=482 (the tailwater’s own record). It is the take-out, not a second listed access point on this water.
"Any flow is fine to float."
Published guidance disagrees. KDFWR: 150–500 cfs for casual floating, avoid above 1,000 cfs. Taylor Co. Tourist Commission: over 800 cfs "can be dangerous." Portaging may be needed at low flow.
What this road actually gets you
KDFWR, verbatim: “traveling north from the recreation area on KY 55 to KY 1701 (Roachville Road, also known as Miller Chapel Road)”; “The road to the ford lies unmarked and on the left (coming from KY 55) in the middle of a sharp right-hand turn.” The Roachville Ford record adds “off State Highway 3098.”
Beyond this water, for planning only: Russell Ford Access (6.6 mi further; carry-down, no fee) and American Legion Park Access (the halfway point to Greensburg; carry-down, no fee) continue the float. Neither is part of this water’s KDFWR record. The City of Greensburg’s paddle-trail facility marks the trail’s far end; its ramp details are not published.

*The Guide’s Black Bass daily limit also covers Kentucky/spotted and Coosa bass, which have no size limit (§2(1)(a)2); the 12-in limit is largemouth and smallmouth only. Green River Lake’s own 40-in muskellunge / 9-in crappie limits (301 KAR 1:201 §3(35)) belong to the lake, not this reach.
Flow guidance (not a Corps operating rule): KDFWR 2014 — 100–300 cfs best for summer floating, hairy beyond 750 cfs. KDFWR Blue Water Trail — 150–500 cfs casual, outfitters advise against floating above 1,000 cfs. Taylor Co. Tourist Commission — over 800 cfs can be dangerous.
No current discharge reading exists for this reach (USGS 03306000’s discharge series ended 1994). Call the Corps daily line (270) 465-8824 or the project office (270) 465-4463 before committing to the float. No outfitter is named on any source read for this water.
