KDFWR's access records, verbatim: Warix Run "cannot be used at winter pool"; Beaver Creek "cannot launch at winter pool"; Blackwater and the Ramey Creek carry-down "difficult to launch" at winter pool; Ramp 26 "4WD advised" any time. All five sit up the arms, where a Y-shaped reservoir goes shallow — water leaves the flattest ground first and the backs of the coves lose cover before the main lake shows anything. That is reasoning from the shape of a reservoir, not a Corps figure. KDFWR, Oct 2019: once at winter pool the best muskie fishing is "on the lower end of the lake by the dam."

The shoreline is national forest, and the orders reach the bank. No fishing from any boat ramp or courtesy dock, lake-wide. No camping within 300 ft of the water, or of any road or trail to it, outside designated sites. Twin Knobs and Zilpo ramps: paying campers only. KY 801 corridor, Fern Bluff to Warix Run including Scott Creek Bay: closed to hunting and shooting. South shore around Zilpo and Leatherwood is Pioneer Weapons WMA — primitive-weapons deer hunting in fall.

Spotted bass count in the 10. KDFWR's lake record still shows the old slot. All else statewide. "Gigging and snagging prohibited in lake and all tributaries up to the first riffle". Tailwater: rainbow trout, statewide — licence plus trout permit. Bank access, no fee: High Bank, Boat Gunnel, Shallow Flats (accessible), Musky Bend, Lake View off KY 801; North Fork off Paragon-Craney Road. Fish attractors: KDFWR publishes a GPX; the count is not stated and we have not verified one.
